Welcome & Orientation
Thank you for considering working together.
This document is meant to offer transparency about my approach, boundaries, and the structure of our work, so you can make an informed decision about whether this space feels right for you.
Although I am a clinically trained psychotherapist, I currently live and practice in Mexico, which means I do not provide the kind of immediate crisis response or legal protections that some therapists might offer in other licensed jurisdictions.
As part of entering into this work together, you will be asked to provide an emergency contact who will sign an informed consent agreeing to be contacted in case of a crisis that puts your safety at risk.
Therapy with me is relational, somatic, and client-led. I draw from Internal Family Systems (IFS), somatic insight practices rooted in the Insight Meditation tradition, and nervous system-informed approaches. I trust the intelligence of your system and believe healing unfolds when we move at the pace of presence—not pressure.
This agreement is not about rigid rules, but about clarity, consent, and mutual respect. My hope is that it supports a safe and grounded foundation for the deep and sacred work we may do together.
My Approach to Therapy
My work is grounded in a non-pathologizing, relational-cultural approach that honors your innate wisdom and capacity for healing. I draw from Internal Family Systems (IFS), somatic insight practices rooted in the Insight Meditation tradition, and nervous system-informed care. Together, we cultivate a therapeutic space where all parts of you are welcome—at your own pace, in your own timing.
You are the expert on your experience. While I may offer assigned readings or practices—ranging from internal inquiry to embodiment work—they are always optional and meant to support your process, not define it. Your healing will be led by your system's intelligence. I will go as slowly or as quickly as your nervous system is ready to move.
As a human, I may share tools or perspectives from non-religious wisdom traditions that have supported me personally, such as yin yoga—which I appreciate not only for its meditative qualities but also for building proprioception and interoceptive awareness. I will always explain why I suggest something and you are welcome to request alternatives or share what works best for you. This is your healing journey.
I also invite you to practice speaking for your needs, including any discomfort, preferences, or curiosities that arise in our work together. Consider this relationship a practice ground for life—a place to explore new ways of relating, repairing, and growing that can ripple into the rest of your relationships beyond our sessions.
Please note that while I support deep healing and growth, I do not specialize in crisis care. If you are in acute distress, I will work with you to find appropriate outside support.
Informed Consent & Scope of Practice
By choosing to work together, you are entering a collaborative process that centers trust, consent, and mutual respect. I am a trained psychotherapist with a Master’s in Counseling and experience in Internal Family Systems, somatic therapy, and insight-based relational practices. While I bring clinical training, our work may extend beyond traditional psychotherapy frameworks to include body-based practices, parts work, mindfulness, and intuitive inquiry.
This is a space for deep transformation and embodied healing—not a crisis intervention service. If you are experiencing active suicidal ideation, unmedicated psychosis, or other acute psychiatric needs, I will refer you to a provider or setting that is equipped for higher levels of care.
We may integrate practices from nervous system training, trauma recovery, and contemplative traditions—but all tools are optional, and you are encouraged to move at your own pace. I welcome feedback at any time, and I invite you to co-create the direction of your healing.
Confidentiality is held in accordance with professional ethics and legal obligations, though the laws of the country where we work (currently Mexico) may differ from those in your home country. Please bring any concerns or clarifying questions about confidentiality into our dialogue. If you would like to release information to another provider, we can complete a mutual agreement form together.
I take intentional time offline throughout the year—ten days every four months, and one full month annually—as a part of my own integration and self-care.
In advance of these breaks, I will provide the names and contact information of two trusted therapists who are available for short-term support.
You may choose to opt in or out of this service, depending on your needs. These referrals are meant to help you feel supported while maintaining continuity during my absence.
